FSX advice please....
Every now and then I have a fly in FSX...but how do you install SP2? (Does it make any difference to performance?)
I keep getting the message that I need the English version (which I have) and the install stops. I have tried down loading the patch onto a different PC and running the patch from jump drive etc but still no good. Any suggestions?
Also... the trees in FSX seem a bit 2 dimensional.... is there a better tree replacement pack out there somewhere?
thanks!

A few had this problem including myself.... I just ended up buying acceleration and installed that over my fresh clean install of fsx, its the best addon i have bought, my sim now runs loads faster with miles better smoothness and cosistyancy of fps etc....and all this the detail and animations (cars boats etc) turned up! ....heres a link you might find useful if you want to do a sp1 +sp2 install.

Hi 233
Make sure you load SP1 first.. run the sim.. close it down then install SP2. If SP2 won't load, you may have already installed the Acceleration Pack which has SP2 built-in. If you don't have the addon pack (payware).. try downloading SP2 from a different source and see if that works. I pulled SP2 off Microshaft last week and when I tried to install it.. I got a message saying it wasn't a recognised file :o Dragged a previously downloaded copy down and it went on fine

Hi,
I have a high end system. 2.44 quad core with 4gigs ram on Vista.
SP2 made FSX stutter and I saw black squares around runway lights.
I have the latest nvidia drives for my 8800GT card.
Anyone encounter these problems?
Ted.

D'oh..
Crossing threads here..
Go into C:\Documents and Settings\USER*NAME\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX and you'll see the file FSX.cfg. Rename that to FSX.BAK or similar and save. Open FSX and it will rebuild your config file. You'll have to reinput your preferences so note these before you start.
