Bristol Britannia from me...

Post by jensbk »

Hi all,

I've been working on a model of the Britannia for some months, and this afternoon I uploaded it to Avsim. It includes the short-body srs. 102 and the long-body srs. 310. Colour schemes for BOAC (102 and 312), CPA, Cubana, British Eagle, BKS, Britannia Airways and an RAF C1. Separate downloads for FS2004 and FSX. They should be up at Avsim soon, at least tomorrow! (And Leif, please 'take them to the Pond')

Best regards

Oh yes and I am sure Jens wont be offended - but for a more immersive experience - might I suggest adding Fraser's Panel to the Brit ;)

I don't think Fraser's panel will fit the model, certainly not the VC. Please give the included panel (=the VC) a chance - it is good :)

I will Jens

And after I spoke it dawned on me that Fraser's panel is not for general release yet,,,thanks for reminding me Tony

Jens - I'm working on a sort of a Proteus sound file as well if you are interested....The damn things are like

hens teeth these days - the only one that I know of that was still running (with a Britannia prop attached) was at Kemble

And Im not sure if thats serviceable anymore -- the Proteus has such a distinctive sound (externally) that it would be a shame

(for me) to use a KingAir or even worse (shudder) an Allison sound file.

Hello,
Thank you Mr. Kristensen your Britannia is great, one step up from Mike Stone's very good model, I have already flown in FSX and your model works to perfection.I was at Brize Norton in 1970 and although I didn' work on the Brits, I remember the Brit Squadron moving from Lynam to Brize, not very popular I seem to remeber, with the Brit Sqadron. I worked on VC 10's and Belfasts, every day the Brits were on the apron being loaded with either freight or personel, it was truely the work horse of the the then Transport Command. Now I can fly out of Brize with MY Brit many thanks. I know people like myself are never satisfied but I have to ask is there any chance of you turning your modelling skills in the creation of another old workhorse, the Blackburn Beveley.
No matter I am very happy with the Brit.
