Have you downloaded both 1-11 panels?

The 510ED uses a different panel than the others, so if you're only seeing the 510 it looks like the other panel isn't installed.

FSX will not display an aircraft in the menu if it can't find a panel.

Hi

Was hoping someone could help. I have just done a fresh install of FSX and have installed DM's VC-10 as per the instructions but it does not appear in FS at all. Any ideas?

Cheers

Have you copied a thumbnail image of the plane into each of the aircraft texture folders (needs to be called thumbnail)

Hi chaps,

The thumbnails don't stop the models showing in the sim. Can you tell us the full path to the location of the model on your hard disk please? Also, have you downloaded and installed the panel? Aircraft won't show in FSX if the panel isn't present. :cpu:

Hi

As tried yesterday

If you download recent HS Trident,then you get in the textures a texture.cfg which Points a bit nowhere

into a texture Folder in the plane Folder -->not there
into a texture Folder in the DMFS shared Folder/textures-->not there

Maybe David has to ammend the zip's to include that.I solved it as i had an old FS2004 download where all is in

Back again,

I've tried to solve this through a bit of research but can't seem to make anything change. :hide:

On my rig at home, the 1-11 works fine in FSX.
On the one at my ATC Squadron, we use two screens and a projector. Screen 1 is the original window, i.e 2D panel and view out of the window. Screen 2, VC for co-pilot and to throttle quadrant and projector for new view- cockpit to show outside.

The only problem is, to hear any sound, I have to create a new view and go external. Internal sounds won't play. It's installed exactly as mine is at home but it won't have it.

Any suggestions? I'm trying to educate my lot in the art of older aircraft . :wall:

Hi Paul,

It may be to do with the Doug Dawson sound gauge. This was very commonly used in FS9, but there was a different version of the gauge for FSX, and as Davids models were port overs, the gauge was never updated. It does work in FSX for the most part, but I did have a few funnies that I had put down to this. Now off the top of my head I can't remember the details of what I did to change it from dsd_xml to dsd_fsx_xml.

Right, just checked (forgot I had FSX installed on the laptop.)

Firstly download dsd_fsx_xml_sound from here :- http://www.douglassdawson.ca/
put the dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau file in your FSX gauges folder.

Next go to >\\SimObjects\Airplanes\DMFS Shared Files\BAC 1-11 Panel VC and open Panel.cfg in notepad or similar.

In mine I have

Code: Select all

gauge32=dsd_fsx_xml_sound!sound,  2,2,5,5,.\SimObject\Airplanes\DMFS Shared Files\BAC 1-11 Panel VC\DM_1-11_sound.ini

I thing yours may not have the FSX bit. Make a backup copy and then replace your gauge32 line with the one above.

Nexxt go back to \\SimObjects\Airplanes\DMFS Shared Files\BAC 1-11 Panel VC and open DM_1-11_sound.ini in notepad or similar and make sure it looks like this...

Code: Select all

[Config]
MaxSounds=8
ErrorFlag= -1
LvarStop=DM SOUND STOP
VolumeVar=dsd_xml_sound_volume
ResetVolumeVar=1

[Sounds]
Sound00=./Aircraft/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/ALERT.wav
Sound01=./Aircraft/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/BEEP.wav
Sound02=./Aircraft/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/FIRE.wav
Sound03=./Aircraft/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/HORN.wav
Sound04=./Aircraft/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/STALL.wav
Sound05=./Aircraft/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/SPEED.wav
Sound06=./Aircraft/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/VOICE_V1.wav
Sound07=./Aircraft/DMFS Shared Files/BAC 1-11 Panel VC/VOICE_VR.wav

[LVars]
Lvar00=DM SOUND ALERT
Lvar01=DM SOUND BEEP
Lvar02=DM SOUND FIRE
Lvar03=DM SOUND HORN
Lvar04=DM SOUND STALL
Lvar05=DM SOUND SPEED
Lvar06=DM SOUND V1
Lvar07=DM SOUND VR
I think that's it, but any problems give me a shout. My brain isn't working too well tonight and my lovely comfy Jurys Inn bed is calling me, never thought I'd be glad to get to Bradford :lol:

Drove up from Oxford tonight, via Thurleigh and the M1 was down to 1 lane just North of Nottingham. What was causing the bulk of the problem was that it wasn't signed until 300 yards before the cones, and all that the sign said was Lane restrictions so you got all the nobs of the day trying to jump the queue in lanes 2 and 3. Then in the 50 zone (which is most of the M1 north of there) I had a Megabus in Lane 2 sitting about 6 feet off my backside. I couldn't go anywhere as the traffic was all sitting at 50. If I'd had to brake he'd have gone through me. There are some w@nk3rs on the road. :rant:
