Saying hello
Hi.
Took a long time, but I made it. Knocking on a bit, I was 79 yesterday. Got a lot say. Lived through the war, I was nine when it started. Had a few near misses! Called up for NS in 1948 in the Royal Artillery. After demob, I joined the RAF and as my education was up to standard, ended up pilot training and flew Lincolns and Canberra's. It only lasted five years and I was discharged with defective vision and I wasn't in long enough for a pension. How do we get on the aircraft, what have you got. My FS discs are too old for Vista and I can't afford top replace them. Pleased to be with you all.

You are most welcome Ken
Did anyone mention that for new members 'pull up a sandbag and sit down' tales are obligatory ;-)

A new erk on the dispersal is being shown round the Lincoln. Its a cold day and the NAAFI wagon had just been, so the erk and the corporal went up into the nose out of the wind. The corporal carried on his instruction during break, while tidying up after break and before the corporal could stop him, the newby threw his coffee dregs down what looked like a drain in the floor, it wasn't a drain, oh no. There was a bang and a thud and a ten man dinghy popped out of its housing in the wing root. The look alike drain was the flotation switch for the dinghy in case of a ditching at sea. It cost the new lad seven days CC and five pounds fine.
