Anyone interested in recreating the 1934 MacRobertson Race?

Post by lholmes »

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the 1934 MacRobertson Race from England to Australia.

I have been working on recreating the race in FS2004, and I would like to know if there is any interest in this project.

There are a lot of Classic British planes that took part in the race (plus a number of non-Brit). I have already made a start at collecting aircraft which are currently available as Freeware (some do come with FS2004). There are some participating aircraft still unavailable, however.

If you are interested in contributing to this project, whether it be providing information on the race, making models of the missing aircraft, doing re-paints, helping with the flight plans and airport setups, or whatever, please let me know.

If you are interested in just having the finished project, I'd like to know that too.

I'd be up for running the Vega or DC-2.

I'll go for Airspeed, as I like the name and they were built just down the road from me!

As the Airspeed has been grabbed I'll have to go for the Fairey IIIF.

Best wishes

Dh 88 I think!
I seem to lost my default Comet from FS2004. I have had a sniff around the discs and cannot seem to find it as such. Anybody managed to retrieve a default? If not can any BB user e-mail me the folder. Sounds and gauges should be ok.

I thought that the Comet won it? Certainly wasn't the one that I picked. They are probably still waiting for it to finish... :(

Best wishes
