Thanks Den.

It's getting there now, i've been working behind the scenes on a few bits today to improve the reliability of the file uploads.

We've got our first file now and hopefully many more people will come forward and use it.

If there's anyone here who used to have files hosted on the site and wants them reuploading then feel free to let me know. I still have copies of all the old files.

Rob.

Hi Rob :hello:

Thank you for getting Britsim back up and running.

I would love to see my files hosted with Britsim, let me know if you need new copies.

All the best to you,

Nev

Thanks guys

Tonights task is getting the category system and search functions working correctly so the library doesn't get out of hand.

If you do have new copies that would be handy Nev, I do have everything but there's no index so it's just a directory with literally thousands of zip files in it. A lot of which I guess are now outdated.

Just a quick update, I've had a lightbulb moment on a theory which will let me bring much of the old site back without also bringing over the problems it had before.

It'll take a couple of days but I think it'll work.

If the new site is offline over the next couple of days that'll be why.

It's nice to get my enthusiasm for it back.

Rob.

Thats good if you can use my original uploads because I've done a lot of tweaking/ experimentation on some of my models so I don't know the state I should re-upload! If you follow my drift! Mind you I did upload a few to Flightsim during your (Britsim) absence.
I do though have my newer ones that were never on Britsim so will gather those together soon.
Suggestion for uploaders though, please categorise as to which FS version & whether its a complete model or a re-paint in the title, or as a category. Makes searching/downloading easier.

Big news today (for me, it's been hard work!)

My big idea seems to have worked. Here's a sneaky screen shot...

Apologies to those who've joined and uploaded over the past few days but it looks like I've saved the original site.

Running on a test server at the moment and still have some minor issues but I think it'll work. Once I'm happy it's ready for release I'll copy it over to the main server.

We're now back!

Hope you like it.

(edited as I managed to save the files I mentioned were missing, apart from one. Rick, if you see this can I reupload your Slingsby Sedburgh again please?)
