Thanks for the explanation. Forgive me - I have avoided VA's : started life in ATC and dislike the 'nature' of all synthetic ATC enough to choose to fly routes in a time when it is fair to assume there was no one to take responsibilities on my behalf.

I guess Joe is keen to get hours accreditted for flying to/fro in African airspace in old-timers. Don't blame him at all!

I'm not a fan of ATC either Mike and the beauty of the way FSA operates is that you don't need ATC. Use it if you want.. don't use it if you don't want to. FSA is basically a mechanism for VA flying.. it's not like VATSIM :thumbsup:

our VA, CBFS, uses fsairlines.net to record the flights. There is no requirement to use any ATC when you use that system. Personally I find using a system like FSA that records your flight, what airport your in, fuel usage, etc makes it more interesting to me.
