Was wading through some dusty backup CD's today and came across the old Aeroplane Heaven DH.2. I couldn't resist installing her into FSX to see how she's held up over the years. Apart from...*deep breath*...replacing the prop blur texture with one from a native FSX Vickers Vimy, all instruments replaced with ones from a FSX compatible Sopwith Camel, and my own little addition (the pièce de résistance) a Spandau MG effect nicked from Stuart Green's Pfalz DIIIa model...she's held up pretty well. The Hun is in for a surprise with the Spandau MG effect. All in all a fun trip down memory lane.

Nice one Brian Have a look to see if you have their Bulldog too. Fairly recent pictures of this old model show it to be a fair looker. I don't have it myself so I can't add any more.

Looks very nice! Hopefully you will make your mods available!
similarly, I was recently playing with the freeware FSX alpha sim SE5a, she looked pretty good, just had to tweak the flight model to reduce how aerobatic she was down to a more realistic level.

Didn't have to drag out the CD's for that one. Already had it installed.DaveB wrote:Nice one Brian Have a look to see if you have their Bulldog too. Fairly recent pictures of this old model show it to be a fair looker. I don't have it myself so I can't add any more.

Ahhh...
Huub Vink has done some nice textures for it but.. I'm not sure he ever released them. Looks a treat in his screenshots. I'll have a look in the library to see if they're there but I doubt it.
EDIT: No.. can't see them

Interesting. I'll look in my backup CD's too, Dave. Would love to have some new skins for the DH.2. Huub does excellent work.

Well...poop. Didn't find Huub's repaints in my CD's, DVD's, thumbies, etc. But I did find this bit of forgotten payware. What was I thinking?

Is that a real aircraft? What were they thinking?FlyTexas wrote:Well...poop. Didn't find Huub's repaints in my CD's, DVD's, thumbies, etc. But I did find this bit of forgotten payware. What was I thinking?

Yep, it was real. From what I've read the prototype crashed on its first landing and that was the end of this very unusual aircraft.blanston12 wrote:Is that a real aircraft? What were they thinking?
