I gave her a try in P3D4 and unfortunately it does not work there. Although its an FSX install its an FS9 model.
I don't know about other model making programmes, but FSDS lets you make for FS9 or FSX. You just need to select the relevant folders, then export as "......"
Based on that, I would have thought it possible for the authors to just re-export as FSX, but maybe it's not that simple.
