Update of DaveG's Beaufighter posted

Post by rohan »

DaveG,
I just found an update of your Beaufighter posted at SimViation by Philippe Wallaert. I don't know whether you gave permission for this, but thought you should know that it is there.

Hope this helps,
Ro

Thanks for the HU Ro. No permission asked for or given, so I'll look into this when I get home.
Didn't think it needed an update myself!

I saw that and immediately suspected it may be the case. How rude to appropriate ownership of another's work. On the plus side whoever did it has named you. Simv have been caught out on this on more than one occasion though. :wall: I didn't bother to d/l it.

I can't image what sort of update it would need, I use frequently in P3Dv4 and have no issues.

The original is a great piece of work and needs no update as far as I am concerned.

I've contacted Simviation to get the file taken down.

I was curious what he did to 'upgrade' it and it looks like he created 2D panels for it, and he removed the sound files and aliased it to the default DC-3.

More of a down grade in my book. Saying he ''upgraded' by adding 2D panels is like 'upgrading' your car stereo by installing an 8-track player.

I hope its taken down soon.

I've asked again for it to be removed, and left an angrygram on the forum.
The author of the mods, Philippe Wallaert, did not include an email address in his upload, so I've no way of contacting him directly.
