Well at least they managed to show one area of Britain.....Southampton and although the aircraft did not land at the airport from what I saw for a default model not bad,not bad at all.

Thanks for posting Peter.

I have been flying the TBM930 in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya and down into Tanzania...It seems an excellent choice for this type of flying and I like it very much. However, at the end of my last flight i landed at Eastleigh, Nairobi and after taxing in and parking I spent about half an hour trying to work out how to stop the engine!...There are no Magnetos and no Mixture or Propeller controls as the engine does not have any spark plugs as it uses “Compression Ignition” so really it is a Diesel running on jet fuel! I spent ages searching for a Fuel Cut-off valve, but I could not find one!

Eventually i stopped the engine by getting the Fuel panel and de-fuelling to Zero contents...Success! Then I had to re-fuel the aircraft again...This can’t be right I’m sure the real aircraft must have a fuel cut-off valve that you could turn off in the case of Fire! Has anyone found a better way to stop the engine?

Hi Peter,

More by accident than design, Ctrl + Shift + F1 Which is supposed to be Fuel Mixture Lean, but seems to cut the fuel. I couldn't see anything in the cockpit that could be clicked on to cut the fuel.

Thanks Ben...I’ve noted that! I bet the real aeroplane has a lever. I like flying this aircraft, but I have yet to checkout the auto-pilot but it does seem to have the right buttons...Not much call for Auto when rushing around the Rift fast and low!

Hi Peter, I remember testing out the TBM and came to the same conclusion about shutting down the engine by using the fuel selector, there must be a better way.

I do remember when reading the first preview text about MSFS and was excited to read there would be a TBM in the default aircraft, but was disappointed the aircraft manufacturer was not Grumman.

I don't know how I did it but I finally managed to use the fuel selecter to shut off the engine. It took much b*ggering about with the mouse.

Those are the Ngong Hills to the right (like the knuckles on a fist).

“I had a farm in Africa, at the foot of the Ngong hills”...Karen Blixen 1885-1962.

Out of Africa...My favourite film.

The Pitts Special was as close as I could get to a DH Puss Moth!
