Most of my flying time is done in DCS these days. :worried:

Lots to think about there lads, and thanks for all the good wishes.

There are lots of nice bits of Xplane, and I agree Paul I think its probably more accurate. I'll have a think about it. There doesn't seem to be a huge range of older airliners for it, and I'm not sure about custom AI.... let alone AI ships.

Its looking likely to be P3D v4, but then we have the issues with all the old AI models that don't work in x64 or where the animations are... well... spurious. So maybe an earlier P3D version... I just don't know. :)

A lot of work has been done this year on converting those “old” AI models to P3D 64 bit - check the forums at AIG and MAIW for news and updates ...

You aircraft builder will know more about this than me, but doesn't the flight modelling in FSX react to things whereas X plane predicts?

Well got P3D installed last night, only to realise I need my activations reset so had to email them and they’ll get back to me in 2 business days.

So.... I put FSX on.... and it’s working a treat. Two lines added to the CFG, one for the AI models and one for highmem and no stutters. I installed the payware VC10, 1-11 and Tristar from Just Flight and it’s really nice being up and running again without spending days tweaking and editing.

Pleased to hear that you are now up and away Ben, that Just Flight VC10 is brilliant isn't it and thanks has to go to one of our members who not only flew it but also beta tested before being released to the flt sim community. This is one reason why I really want to re-install FSX and hopefully one day they might make it compatible for X-Plane 11.

Having a new computer since January I found that FSX ran really well but one thing that led me to uninstall it was the popping scenery, even tweaking the cfg file did not bear much fruit, if you find a way round this then please let me know!!

Regards
Nigel.

To tell the truth, I haven’t had time to start the engines yet! 😂

Is the HJG AI still all FS9?

On Another note.... does anyone have Playsims / Horizon VFR X Volume 6? It seems to be like hens teeth.
