Just look at Rick's fantastic Trid models , they show them as they really were .

The Tridents were by Dave Maltby. Rick did the equally fantastic 748/Andover amongst others.

Kevin ,
'''''''''This all comes with a warning , that memory is fallible .

Just look at Rick's fantastic Trid models , they show them as they really were .''''''''

Thank you for reminding me , I only got one part correct , ''''memory is fallible''''.

Both Rick and David's are brilliant .

Had my 21st b'day in Tel Aviv line training on a T2.
Did not know British airlines trained pilots using Tridents in my birthplace Tel Aviv!!!! Interesting fact!!!

T1s had a drooped leading edge flap , and 1 nose gear door did not close with gear down .
T2s had a leading edge slat , and both nose gear doors closed with gear down ; and more powerful Speys .
T3s longer fuselage , boost engine fitted where the lower part of the rudder would have been , thus less cross wind ability .

Just look at Rick's fantastic Trid models , they show them as they really were .
Thanks for pointing out to me the interesting differences between T1, T2, and T3!!

Yes I have Mantley Tridents for use of FSX and my favorite liveries for that Trident are Northeast, Channel Airways, and Northeast hybrid British Airways (yellow livery with British Airways name)

Once again, thanks for all kind answers.

Aharon ,
If you're on a stable fleet for any length of time , you generally get to fly with everyone . T1s, 2s , 3s and the NE 1es totalled about 60 a/c . A lot for the time .
It was Line training on TLV trip ... 1st is ground school [ pass exam ] , then Simulator , then Base training [ circuits and bumps , in our case 7 hrs in Nicosia/Akrotiri , Cyprus. Where there is still a wrecked T2 { from Turks invasion'74 } ]. Type rating is then issued . Then Line training [ with pax onboard ] . Final route check , which clears you on line with Line crews , not Trainers ... That was the traditional conversion course .
Nowadays it's similar if it's a 1st type . Otherwise sims are so good there is no need for base training .
1st time I saw a 744 was to take 300+ pax to Lagos at night .. landing was survivable , just .

Your trids are all T1Es , similar to T2s , not sure about engine thrust , but fuel tanks would be a bit smaller than a T2.

Dfarrow,

Thanks for great explanations on training methods of Tridents and very glad to hear that British airlines picked my native country Israel for Trident training flights.

Were you concerned about desert sand dust on Tridents in Cyprus?

Aharon
