Re: Problem running FS9

Post by paul26may »

When I attempt to launch FS9 I get the message, 'Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?'
I click on 'Yes' and guess what? Nothing happens. :'( :'(

This must be in W10, from your previous post. Foreign territory for me; when I loaded FSX onto W10, I was told that my validation number was invalid. :wall:

Can we just go back a notch, Paul; what did you find in W7 regarding status of users? You didn't answer that. When following through any problem, we need to find a proven point to work forward from.

Paul,
Where did you install FS9?
If it was in "Program Files", that is a common source of trouble.
Try installing to C:\FS9, (or whatever folder name you prefer)

Check point:
It is installed,
You had your validation code accepted,
You are Administrator,
The shortcut points to the correct installed location,
You did Ben's tick in the Properties of the shortcut-"run as admin".
Then you launch from the shortcut,
..........you get a message reading what exactly?

Couldn't Load Language Resource DLL
Error File C:\FS9\Language.dll
Error Code: 0x7E (126)
Program is aborting!

What a load of bollocks! Just saying.

It sounds like one of the files in your install is corrupt. I’ll upload mine here and you can’t try that. It will be later today.

Can you not copy the language.dll from your disc, & then place it in the FS9 folder? I did that once to convert a french installation into an english one. Mind you that was from the two versions installed on the hard drive.
Good luck
Keith
