Duxford Flying Legends Airshow 2020

Post by DogTailRed2 »

Looks like it's going to be a good day, great weather with a nice selection of aircraft.
Bit early yet with just the Classic Wings aircraft flying.

Looking forward to the fighters

Cannot remember when I was last down there but must be around 8 - 9 years ago at least. Though I do remember quite clearly that I timed my journey so that I arrived around 8am and already there were queues and queues of traffic.

Even after parking up I went to have a look at the static aircraft I noticed that many people were pitching their positions right at the front by 9 am reminded me of the Germans when on holiday, getting to the sunbeds by the pool before any-one else!! :wall:

Oh sorry, nearly forgot to mention brilliant screenshot!!

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nigel,

yes it's always busy at Duxford. I go most years and aim to get there by 8am. Certainly no later than 9:30.
I've never been close to the fence except on bad weather days.

Just watched two Sally B's take off

atb,

Ted.

So you've been lazing the day away watching AI, Ted? Thanks for sharing the pictures, I won't be there tomorrow.
I'm there - in the B17G shot, I'm the ones in the red shirt & white trousers and in the red shirt & white trousers, though I seem to have lost my hair in both pics of my multiple personalities. :help:

Lazing! I'll have you know I've been flying the C47. Well okay lazing and flying the C47.
I did wonder if the images were based on anyone from this forum.
BTW you certainly get around a bit you're over by the super hangar now .
Sadly this is likely to be the only airshow I get to see this year :-(
At least the weather is good for todays flying.
