  1. The long exhaust version for Paul Gausden's BA Swallow II - not available online and the one I'm looking for.
So, please start looking in your archives!
The version of Pauls Swallow I have for both FS9 & FSX ( which I have just found on an old external disc) the sound files are either aliased to the Ryan Spirit (FS9) or are copied complete from the Spirit (FSX).
My Pobjoy sound for the Kite will be with the Kite now available at SOH or at Flightsim.

Hi Keith, yes, that is why I would like to upload the Swallow II with the proper Pobjoy sound files as part of the package. The sound of the Pobjoy engine is so distinctive, there isn't any substitute!

The Comper Kite sound files (which you nicely included in the upload to flightsim) are for the short-exhaust Pobjoy engine - I would prefer to use the ones for the long-exhaust version specifically created by Gary Jones. He took a lot of trouble to get the authentic sounds for specific aircraft, and if these aircraft are available at various sim sites, the corresponding sound files are absent/missing.

P.S. - Has anyone tried the Swallow in MSFS2020? I tried to keep it as standard as possible so it may work.
Ive made no changes to your model or texture files, Paul.
Altered folder structure to suit the new sim also ripped the air file and inserted into the flight performance cfg folder.
Unfortunately I cant get the gauges to show.
The fuel lever and mag switches animate but are'nt clickable.
She flys nicely and the textures look well in Msfs.

That's pretty cool Dale thanks :)
I'll have to save up to replace my 8 years old PC!

I probably made the gauges to work in FS9 and FSX so perhaps they're not forward compatible.

Got my Luton flying this morning in FSX, not as easy to fly as the Swallow, back to learning how it all works.

BA Swallow II is now uploaded

Post by lastivka »

The following packages of Paul Gausden and Doug Kightley's BA Swallow II have now been uploaded to the 4 major free Flight Sim sites. There are 3 packages:
1. FS2004 British Aircraft Swallow II - Cirrus Minor engine
2. FS2004 British Aircraft Swallow II - Pobjoy engine
3. FSX British Aircraft Swallow II - Pobjoy engine

You can view/download them here:

SIMVIATION:

They have also been uploaded to FlightSim and AvSim, but these have been slow to vet the uploaded files, so they will appear probably tomorrow.

Many thanks to Paul Gausden for generously providing the files, and for chasing up some long-lost ones in his archives!

On another note, FS2004 is far from dead - I have just uploaded an FS2004 Aero Ae-45S, and within 24 hours there have been 267 downloads from Flightsim, and 151 from Simviation! :-O

This takes me back to Jan 2010 when I uploaded 3 Cirrus paints to BritSim. Might still have them somewhere but they were for FS2004 so not sure if it is worth re-publishing them!

Hi Peter, yes it is certainly worth re-publishing them! :agree: If I had your repaints before uploading the Cirrus engine Swallow, I would have incorporated them! The uploaded Pobjoy engine version pack has 8 liveries, while the Cirrus one only has one... :(

The interest in FS9 is still, incredibly, very strong! Since uploading 2 days ago, here are the totals for the downloads of the Swallow II from the 3 sites (Flighsim, Simviation and Sim-Outhouse):

Swallow II (Pobjoy engine): 145
Swallow II (Cirrus engine): 177

The story is similar for other FS9 uploads I've recently done.
