The one true original jetliner. Stunningly beautiful too.

Heres to the comet! :drinkers:

BTW, Chris, I'd fly in one of the later comets so you don't get the metal fatigue. Could you imagine that in flightsim?!
"Sir!!! Yellow nosed b******s, twelve o'clock high!!!"

"Break formation, break!!!"

And how many other commercial jets had the airframe and engines designed by the same company?

Just been to the Museum of Flight at East Fortune last week.
That was the first time I got up close and personel to a Dehavilland Comet. The Dan-Air Comet 4c G-BDIX. What a beautiful aircraft it was. Such a pity there are none left that are flying.

Cheers for the send-off...

And what scares me most is that I actually flew on that aircraft, more years ago than I care to remember, from Athens to Gatwick.

Why would that scare you? The Gagandvomit was one of the most comfortable aeroplanes I ever flew in - Now riding on the jumpseat was a whole nother matter

Great aircraft though, it would be wonderful to have a flying example. :\
