FSInns aircraft.cfg entry

Post by Heron1B »

G'day Guys,

Can anyone confirm that they have the following FSInns data appearing in the aircraft.cfg folder. This example is for the Dove. Does this appear automatically or do we need to enter this info somewhere in FSInns?

[fltsim.0]
title=de Havilland DH104 Sea Devon
sim=DH104_BW6_2
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=XJ348
kb_checklists=DH104_check
kb_reference=DH104_ref_2
ui_manufacturer=de Havilland
ui_type=DH-104 Dove
ui_variation=DH-104 Sea Devon C.Mk 20
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=XJ348
atc_airline=NAVY
atc_flight_number=348
description=Sea Devon C.20 XJ348 c/n 04406, 781 Royal Naval Air Squadron. Model and texture by Derek Palmer
FSInn_IDVers=3
FSInn_IDModel=
FSInn_IDTexture=
FSInn_NetACICAO=DH104
FSInn_NetALICAO=
FSInn_NetACType=L2T
FSInn_NetACLowRes=3
FSInn_NetALCallSign=
FSInn_NetACWave=L

I don't have this appearing in my Dove aircraft.cfg but a friend does and has sent me this example.

Cheers,

DelF

Hi Del

TBH I don't have a clue what this FSInn thing is.

It must be something he has added

It's certainly not on my Dove entries

I take it the model is working correctly?

The FSINN entries are for the freeware multiplayer program called (duh) FSINN. It's used on several of the online ATC networks including VATSIM and (I believe) IVAO. The entries simply allow the program to recognize the aircraft automatically so that your flightplan's aircraft section is filled out properly and that any radar client that takes the info shows the proper ICAO and weight category.

Also, those fields are added automatically when you load FSINN for the first time and it scans your aircraft database.

And, for those who haven't seen FSINN, try here - http://www.mdcu.com/

Thanks for that explanation Chris

This is not something I have gone it to so I didn't have a clue what it was about.

I guessed something was adding it automatically but knew not what.

FSInns aircraft.cfg

Post by Heron1B »

Thanks Garry and Chris for your posts.

Would seem I have a problem, FSInns installed normally and seems to function O.K.

I do not have any of that FSInn data in any of my aircraft config files.

FSInns goes through the aircraft recognition process (all my installed aircraft) at start up and connects to multiplay normally.

Chris, does the FSInn data auto load to all your installed aircraft config files? Is it tied into the FSInn's Aircraft Repository. Nothing in the FSInns Manual (as far as I can see) that refers to the automatic FSInn data being written in the aircraft.cfg for each aircraft. Maybe I need to activate something somewhere?

Cheers,

DelF

I use FSInn all of the time and I don't have any of that data in my aircraft.cfg either.

I think it's an option to set up to get that info to write in. It may have something to do with the "unrecognized model" issue with some aircraft. When you set the model, ICAO, and other info for that aircraft, it writes the info into the CFG.

FSInn aircraft.cfg

Post by Heron1B »

Many thanks Chris and Chris,

Been to the MCDU forums with the same question and the reply was very brief. "That FSinn data being written to the aircraft.cfg file was part of a VERY early version of FSInn's".

By all account the latest version 1.1.B2.1127 has it's own library with all the aircraft data.

With FSinn's connected in FS9, go to Control Panel click on Advance then Pla. Navigate to the aircraft in question, click it open and add data. I.e ICAO model, type (L2P) etc and apply. If you see ZZZZ appearing next to any aircraft, (aircraft not recognized) this can be manually corrected.

Cheers,

DelF
