in the Land of Geek - this matrix we inhabit -AVATAR stands for Advanced Video Attribute Terminal Assembler and Recreator .
Basically it is the 3D representation of an object (usually human) in a virtual environment.
But in CBFSim its usually your favourite aircraft or a cheesy picture of yourself!!!!!

I beleive thw word 'avatar' originated in Nelson's Navy. It stems from when on long voyages the company of a female was somewhat lacking, so they would 'ave a tar. Then to commemorate this the next time they were in port they would have a 120 X120 pixel tattoo of the afore mentioned tar placed upon their person
