Derek Palmers Dove no 2D in FSX ?

Post by pomak249 »

Hi peeps only me again !

Just installed DP's Dove into FSX works a treat made a lovely thumbnail etc, only I cant get the 2D panle view? All I get is a thin black line lower screen about 1" thick.Tried pressing W & F10 to no avail, the panel folder contents are all there.

Any ideas?

Mick

Ricks Chipmunk looks great !!

UPDATE: Just tried it again after moving the panel textures into the paint folder, the panel flashed on screen for a split second then disappeared never to return ??

BTW, Derek any VC on the horizon?

Hi Mick

I see no reason why it should not show

I have loaded up FS.X demo and the Dove panel certrainly does show in that.

I suggest you reinstall.

I had something similar using the Nvidia FX5200 Ultra graphics card and it would not display some 2D panels. Changed to another video card and all now works OK. Sorry it's probably not much help as an answer.

Hi Mick,

Check what visibility you have selected in FSX. I have found that imported 2D panels don't show if the vis is set less than 10 miles. It could be an Nvidia or an FSX problem

Also, with the Dove, if you select some of the sub-panels, the main panel disappears. You can get it back in this case using Shift+1. I think some of Sav's selection icons are not fully compatible with FSX

I hope this helps - I am trying to find an answer to 2D panel problems in FSX at the moment.

Regards,

Brian W

Hi Guys

If it's the old Nvidia problem i think turning off the AA & AF will fix it but obviously FSX will then look horrible.

Nvidia graphics cards & drivers seem to be more aimed at Doom type First Person Shooter games.

The have had a lot of problems with FS9 like the way lights show as cones
and not being able to see the aircraft in the selection preview window.

They seem to spend more time making their drivers show good numbers in benchmarks than thinking about actual bug squashing.

Regards
Rick

Under views menu, look in cockpit. Choose 2d panel instead of virtual cabin.
One FSx's newer features
