"Uncle" Milton Shupe has created a number of tutorials - emphasizing gmax and FS2004 modelling. A list is at:

The famous "Contact Points Tutorial" is applicable to any modeller...

Also, for FSDS users, Adam Howe has been creating an FS Design blog with useful "beginner type" tutorials. (Although basic, I've had a few 'aha' moments, as well.

Whilst I remember, here are the first few I wrote for the 3D canvas modelling tool.
More will appear over the coming year before MS Train Sim 2 appears.
