Re: Bristol 170 Superfreighter
Still a lot to do but the model has entered early beta testing.
So time for another appeal
Has anyone got access to the cockpits of preserved Mk.31's in Canada, Australia, or New Zealand
I need photos for texturing and side views in the 2D panel..so if anyone can help out here :prayer:
As to model progress
The Superfreighter has a lot more added since last shown including built and fully feathering props and animated landing lights which are the most obvious.
During a quieter time yesterday as I did not want to get too involved with anthing tricky I made the rough changes to the nose and fin to back engineer it to a Mk.31.
The question of other marks was raised at the beginning and as mentioned then I plan do do all the major marks but none are planned to follow immediately but after the next project as there is quite a bit of interior work to do for the changes.
Stress these are early shots and the shape will still need slight tweaking in places but generally it is much how it will look.....but with nose doors by then

Ah, great to see the older sort nose one in the offing too. The French used it to transport dismantled tanks into Dien Bien Phu, so with my interest in that war, it'll be fun to recreate those flights.
It's all looking excellent, Garry.

The short nose is a much nicer looking aircraft too.... well done that man!
Ben.

Funny you should say that Ben as many would agree with you....but not me :o . I much prefer the long nose and in fact don't like short noses in general. :-(
But one day that will follow along and eventually the 21 without the dorsal and engine detail difference and square tipped shorter tailplane
Also the Mk.I with the 98 foot square tipped wing earlier engines and small props
The Wayfarer will be done as well...... which was the MK.2 a passenger version of the Freighter with fixed nose doors and was at the time a new standard in luxury as it replaced Rapides and the like with a fully furnished wide body....sort of..... cabin with overhead racks.
But that's for the future and will fit in along with the Britannia.

Your secret is safe. ;-)
I flew in a Britannia to Singapore, via Bahrain and Gan. Thats another flight I want to recreate!

No doubt you will have this link Garry, but for those who are unfamiliar with the Freighter, its a nice introduction with a good selection of colour photos at the bottom.

Re: Bristol 170 Superfreighter
Oh yes
I do and I wrote to them to reqest more details but they don't update that anymore ....The guy concerned I think has moved on which is a pity but it was still very useful nonetheless.
They did answer my request at least
But this goes back to my request
There are complete expamples of 31's and a 21 and even a MK.1 in Argentina and they should be complete inside although the forward panel is probably modified the sides and back view should be enough the same for purpose.
But at the moment I have nothing I can use. :-(
