Hi All,
I have on my machine at home a list in Excel of all the FSX airports with Lat / Lon. I've used that to build a quick (great circle) calculator, nothing clever about it, just put in a pair of ICAO codes and it'll tell you the great circle distance between them, works great.
I'd like to expand it a bit, one of the things I'd like to do is be able to put a (single) location in and get a list of all airports within x distance of that location. I've got the info already to do so. However, I'd like to be able to refine the results to show only those airports with a runway longer than y feet, I don't at present have runway length info.
Whilst there's very likely to be a flight planner out there to do the job I'd like to do it afresh in Excel (one of the things I do for a living is developing / analysing / writing vba for Excel spreadsheets ) so that as I think of new facilities that I'd like to have in it I can do so.
Does anyone know of a current database / listing of all runways in FSX? A simple table in Excel would be great but if not I can adapt / format it to suit.
Cheers
Rich

Re: FSX Database
Hi Colin,
Thankyou! It might well do the trick, on my phone atm but will try later to see if I can get tables of data off the per-country pages on there.
Cheers

Re: FSX Database
As a test of what I'd got out of FSXDB I put the data into a map, whilst there's a few gaps (I've got 740 ICAO codes with no Lat / Lon at present) it's not looking too bad for a first go:
