Thanks Bob - glad you like the Auster C model. Yes, the AOP-11 is also one of my models. I had built all the major Auster models, all were available at Britsim.com but as that's now gone, then so have they for a while.
You mentioned Rearsby, where the Austers were built. Yes, I had made a scenery model (also at Britsim) :( ) of it as it doesn't exist in Flightsim or real life any more.
Regarding the windscreen opacity, you don't mention which sim you're using. All these models were built for FS2004, not FSX. However, I did include a windscreen texture specifically for FSX with each model which should help. The airfield scenery model won't work in FSX.

The Sim I am using is FSX.
In the files I have FSX glass.bnp GLASS.bnp and GLASS-VC.bnp

Should I delete one or two of these or move them?

I thought the Auster J1 I have was modelled by Dave G. Is your J1 model different?

Best Wishes, Bob.

The instructions for handling the 'glass' files are given with the aircraft in 'Auster Installation and notes.txt - here they are -
'A better FSX glass texture is included to replace the FS9 versions. To use, you will need to make two copies of FSXglass, renaming one GLASS.bmp and the other GLASS_VC.bmp '
No. Dave Garwoods Auster J1 is modelled specifically for FSX, mine was made for FS9 use but will work tolerably well in FSX.

If I'm not mistaken.. the FD on DaveG's model is the same one as DaveM's. The FS9 FD is perfectly good and it seemed pointless reinventing the wheel. I'm sure DG asked Brian if it would be OK to use it on his FSX model. May I be struck down if I'm incorrect

Dave B,
Just done a quick check between DG's FSX J1 Auster & DaveM's FS9 J1 & they are not the same by quite a lot when comparing the aircraft.cfg & the .air files.

OK Keith ;)

I'm sure this was the original plan but as with many plans.. they don't always work out exactly as planned 8)

I thought my J1 was out before Dave M's *-) Could be wrong though. I'm sure my FD was done from scratch, although I expect Dave M's to be more accurate as he has real life experience on the type.
Too many Daves around here.

Looking at the dates in the files it looks as if Dave M's was issued March 2009, with DaveG's dated August 2009.
