Hi guys,

It's been such a long time since I've posted. Thought I'd share some images of a current work in progress aircraft or should I say, a "Classic British" aircraft ;) The Britten Norman BN2A MKIII-2 Trislander, specifically G-JOEY. I know most of you have spent some time in or around this particular aircraft in one form or the other and adored by so many.

Since I've been wanting a full FSX spec version of this aircraft, I set out in gathering materials (or lack of) in preparations to get this bird into the FSX skies. Problem is that really useful material, especially drawings are hard to come by and a flight manual is of rarity to obtain.

So in August of last year, I purchased a wonderful mesh that will serve as the basis for the Trislander project. Of course, so many things with the purchased mesh were really off, so lots of parts had to be remodeled, the entire mesh had to be remodel with new parts being added. The results shown is 9 months worth of work and I hope everyone will be pleased once I release Joey to the public. Before anyone ask, yes I did purchase a 3D mesh, but the final product will be freeware (with proper permissions).

So what will the final release come with? Extremely detailed (250,000+ polygon) and functional exterior and interior models with choice of avionics with the F1 GTN and GNS being offered to those who own those products, high quality (2048 and 4096px) textures, 3D gauges and switches, 3D lighting system throughout, default and custom animations throughout, high quality soundset with separate sounds for all 3 engines with sound cones, distance, panning. Volumetric propeller side view effects, custom failure module and more.

In it's current state, interior work is about done with panel work ongoing. I do have a painter that did Joey's livery, but I was hoping to get more people involved so I could get this project finished quicker. So for now, it's a 2 man show, unless more folks want to get involved.

Throughout the start of the projects, I've had the help and resources of real world Trislander pilots and crew sending valuable material and information, plus the support of dedicated enthusiasts via facebook and email, so all of this would not have been possible without the gracious help of those wonderful folks.

So without further ado, I present Joey for FSX/P3D. I hope you all enjoy the preview of what's to come. You can follow Joey's progress at https://www.facebook.com/joeytrislandervirtual/ or visit the dedicated Trislander facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/JoeyTrislander/

Clearly, a lot of work going into this one, looking great....well done for bringing an unusual subject into Flightsim, not the prettiest of aircraft but it will be ideal for popping down to the Channel Islands and up to the remote Scottish Islands.

Look forward to this one when it gets released. ;)

Never heard a Trislander in RL but that sounds very much as I'd imagine one would. The vid was a bit grumpy on my rig but the sound was ok. A good demonstrator film for prospective customers showing it's single engine capability too

It's been a while since I last updated Joey and I am looking for help. Quoted from my facebook post:
It's time to get Joey back into production. His exterior is more or less finished and painted, his interior lacks paint of any sort and that's where I could use any talented painter to really bring life to the interior. The planned failure module can wait as it'll take a good while to get that all coded as is the GNS, GTN and Aspen avionics. Matt Wynn did one hell of job with the exterior and I could ask him to bring his talents to the interior, but I'm sure he has his other projects to work on. Other models including the short nose and 2-blade propellers are also planned at a later date, only models representing G-JOEY, G-BEVT and G-RLON are planned at the moment with basic radios.
