It used to pass over our house on route to Ireland or on its return to Coventry never very high and positioning for Runway 23 always enjoyed hearing those piston engines purring away, shame as now I dont often see the Electras or the DC3's like I used to.. soon we will be all Airbus and NG Boeings everywhere.... I recall going to Heathrow in the 70's and seeing numerous aircrfat of different shapes and sizes... go now and its 777/767/757/737 all looking alike and similar to the A320/321/330/340 seems character has long gone.... bluddy heck I am moaning again can I blame this on FSX
It would indeed be a great shame to see the demise of this great aircraft.I have had the pleasure of seeing it fly at Coventry and of standing near by during it's engine runs on Air Atlantique's open days,a magnificent sight and sound.I'll just ckeck the lottery result from last night--maybe just maybe...ATB EricT
