It's interesting what turns up years after an event. For example, there was the photo of the Bristols which generated a lot of comment, back in 2008. Another photo has now surfaced; there seems to have been a different scenario on the other side of the aircraft, and remember, not ALL pilots are male..

How many lady pilots do we have on the members list, do you keep a record?

Hi Mike :)

They tend to be memorable.. purely because there are so few. Off the top of my head, I reckon 3 with only 1 vaguely active now :) This by the way is lady members.. not necessarily lady pilots ;)

In the "old days", people used to think about writing something. Then they'd get out the ink bottle, paper and so on, then pen their words. After enveloping, stamping and walking to the post box, their words would start their days long journey to the recipient. In turn, they would read, think, decide on a response, and repeat the process. Today, many words are lazily thrown onto the keyboard with no regard for spelling, grammar, capitalization, or punctuation.
To recap recent events:
I was interested in this years-old post because though Northolt was my local aerodrome, my best friend and I often visited LAP (now Heathrow) to feast our eyes on the big metal that was on offer.
I posted a story about a 707 at Northolt, and Garry kindly posted a photo of that incident.
I had read the whole 15 pages of posts, and came across an amusing exchange that took place on and around 26th January 2008, hence my reference to the Bristols.
To me, Garry's photo turned up years after the event. Escorts and Stewards supposedly being a light-hearted forum, I modified the original joke photo posted on 26th January 2008, and suggested it as another view that had turned up years after the event, with a twist.
To suggest that I somehow disrespect Leif is way off mark. You obviously took the time to research my tribute to him, and decided from that, that I did not "know" him. Read my tribute again please, and see that I have the utmost respect for him. I previously donated to Britsim, by the way.
Call me old-fashioned, but I still follow the communication principles that I was taught. I did suggest in another post on a different subject, that there should be more reading and digesting, before blasting off with both barrels after reading a quarter of the words and jumping to incorrect conclusions.
If you've read this far, congratulations! Take a biscuit from the jar, and thankyou.

Mike

I don't see where anyone implied you were showing disrespect toward anyone, nor have I found the use of both barrels.

Well Mr Airboatr, I don't want to start a war with you, but if you were NOT criticizing my impudence as a newcomer, who dared post to a thread started by Mr Harding, followed by 15 pages from various sources, exactly what DID you imply by:
" perculairly posted in a thread strated long ago by one who is now passed on. ...By a newcomer who never knew him by admission."
?
....keeping in mind that, as usual, I will read your response, think about it, and reply accordingly.
I also note that you did not comment on my explanation, you merely plead "Not guilty"

Mike I don't think I can give you the help you need. Although I would suggest you not be so easily lead by your emotions.

Why not think that over for 24 hours before you reply. :)
