New DX9c out and WOW what a difference!
Heads up time guys.
There is a new DX9c (yes I know! :brick: :doho: ) released that has made a HUGE difference to my FSX flying!
I was flying the Capt. Sim Hercules C130 last night and in places I was getting FPS of 6-20 in game......today I am getting an average of 22 with a top of 30+.
My Alphasim Hunter is giving 70+ FPS.
The Shockwave P.40 is showing high 40's in VC and 80's in spot view with a high of 99!!!! :o
I have NEVER seen FPS rates as high as this in FSX before and I only have a middle of the road rig (P4 single core CPU at 3.4 GHZ, 2 Gb DDR2 RAM, 512 MB DDR3 8800GT GFX card) and I am running the Deluxe FSX with the Acceleration add-on.
The download can be found at....
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
...or if you prefer the re-distributable version (as I do) that can be found here.....
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... lang=en&tm
Now I need to test FS9 but I have already seen improvements in my other games too.
Enjoy!

I just tested in FS9 and my CBFS birds (Andover, Chippie, JP, Hunter, etc.) are all showing at mid 60's FPS as are most of my other AC including complex choppers.

Thanks for this tip Larry, I recently upgraded to the November DX9C and got a good result in FS9, this update looks even better!

Yep
A great improvement :prayer:
The Superfreighter is a very high poly model yet I'm in the 60's most of the time with is not dropping much below 50 and over 70.....external
Much the same on the 2D but a few spikes of over 100
Amazing :o
Thanks for the HU
Now I'm as happy as Larry

Help Please!
I have just downloaded the new DX9C file from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... lang=en&tm
And was following through with installation when I came upon a blank entry box enquiring where the new DX9C file was to be installed. I thought that the installation process was fully automatic and now I am non-plussed!
I also cannot find where the downloaded DX9C program is located so that I can delete it and start again. Help needed please.

Hi Hobby
It is fully automatic but you need to verify you windows copy first but clicking "continue" in the main intro
If you didn't it probably didn't download.
