He's lucky to have survived that crash. Glider looks like it will be written off.

Wow! Obviously the composite structure of the glider did it's job superbly! As you say Garry, surprised that's not made the wider news, probably because it's not a video!

I'm due to go gliding before the end of the year, so I don't think I'll show this to the wife... :dunno:

Looks like the impact was actually at a fairly low airspeed. From the looks of it, he stalled while trying to turn into the wind on final during a very gusty wind condition. Unfortunate and not much he could do in that case with as bumpy as it was.

You can see how much the wing bent so it acted a bit like a spring
