Wonkypedia-attention Leif H

Post by Airspeed »

G'day All,
Recently, Leif mentioned a Palindrome in connection with Boeing. I checked a few facts in my copy of Wonkypedia, only to discover that it actually has nothing to do with Panama (sorry, Leif!), but in fact is a private landing strip used by ex humourist and recent world traveller, Michael Palin. While I have your attention, please spare a thought for those poor souls who bought cheap houses on the flightpath into the Hippodrome; apparently the plants start well, but are flattened
by excess fertiliser before they mature.

As I understand it, Escorts and Stewards is for light hearted chat. This is a play on words - aeroplanes land at an Aerodrome, M Palin lands at his Palindrome, and hippopotamus land at the Hippodrome. Apologies for confusing you.

*-) Ok who switched the weather? It is raining and 8C here right now and I see you lot across the pond are enjoying nice warm weather. Mind you it has been warm here prior to today but they announced last night that we had only one full day of sunshine in September and lots more rain than usual. Sorry chaps, but I want our usual weather back - you can borrow it for a few more days but then please return it promptly!
