I think the runways and taxiways went some while ago. I can remember looking at google maps and seeing it had gone. Would be interesting to see a statistic of how many active military airfields we have had each year since 1945.

Which is why the thread is just about the flight line :) ..and a lost looking Lightning that's fast looking out of place :worried:

Sad to see that.....I was based at Binbrook when it was closed down, and it was one of my most enjoyable postings.

It cracks me up. the way RAF Binbrook has been torn apart. I spent seven happy years there on Lincoln's and Canberra's in the fifties. It was always happy station, minimum bull thanks to commanding officers who weren't interested in absolute bull.

is that the airport that has been used for a few race venues?


I recall we flew over it a few times in multi-fly.
