That's about a mile up river from the helipad next to the exhibition centre where the police and air ambulance helecopters are based.

I'm seeing quite a few photos on twitter taken from the hotel & flats other side of the road looking down on the scene. Looks like it's gone through the roof nose first. It a popular music venue & it's payday for many so the place would have been busy :(

Not good news :(

Edit: Trying to post a link to a tweet here with a photo, Not sure if it will work or not,

Shocking news. I pass that pub regularly while heading up the town for a night out while at college. Thoughts with all those involved. :(

At least one fatality. :(

I stayed in the Crown plaza Hotel right near to where those Helos are based, and they flew right near the Hotel, along the river to land.

I read a report of 8 dead and, 32 taken to hospital 12 of which are in serious condition.

My condolences to those affected by this awful incident. I can only imagine how the police community must be taking this unfortunate occurrence of events. My prayers and thoughts go out all.

It boggles the mind how so many bad things can happen in sequence that lead to an end such as this.

Cheering a friend tipping a glass and ... well it's just so terrifyingly saddening.

Indeed Joe.. :agree:

What could be more comfortable and away from the dangers transportation and the like than sitting in a pub minding your own business with a friend.??

My thought to all those affected.

In a similar vein I was not far from where the roof caved in on a Supermarket a week or so ago...you really feel the sense of shock and bewielderment of such tragedy in such and un expected way.

I'm extremely shocked and saddened by this incident.

My strongest condolences to the families of all those involved and a big hats off to the emergency services personnel dealing with the aftermath.

Nice to see you around Rob. Yes I think all are saddened by this incident & you & your colleagues who fly in them must now be a little worried. Just hope they find the cause & its a 'random' one.
