No, didn't buy the Hunter, but I bought an original Airspeed Oxford seat for my museum.
It's my birthday present for this year.

I was thinking.. Since it's been such a nice winter up there, one of you might want it for the garden... Run some plumbing and use the pitot tube to fill a couple of birdbaths... Maybe a Herring or two will show up. ohh and they might draw in a vampire ..
Check please.
Hey Mike, when I come for dinner, can I sit in your new seat at the table?

I found one of those for someone on ebay once and they bought it. Price was somewhere between 1/4 and 1/5th of that though and the inflation in the last 10 years hasn't been that high

Re: Will this fit in the office?
Joe, sure, if you bring a parachute pack to use as padding!
Toby, thanks for the comment. This is the first one I've ever seen for sale; if it was 1/5 the price, it would be the same as individual instruments.
There was a Canadian made R.O.C., only 0 to 2 (000 ft) going for AU$50, but I decided not to be too greedy.
Astro Compasses vary between $80 and $120, Altimeters etc $50 to $75ish.
Sometimes, you get lucky, and pick up items at starting price because everyone else has missed spotting them.
Your contact got a real bargain IMHO.
I would have paid $30 for this, but see where it's gone already:

I guess the value depends on your point of view.
One of my relatives used to say that he wouldn't give tuppence for my collection, but he was happy to pay up for old portable steam engines.

Re: Will this fit in the office?
This parachute pack .. two questions;
does it have to actually have a parachute in the pack.
And
will I be leaving it for the museum .
