No, not our Mad Mike. This 'Mad Mike' is building a steam powered rocket that he will soon take for a ride. :worried:

Hi Brian,

Are you sure it's not our Mike. :hide:

Roger.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Seams like a bit of a loon. Hope he does not kill himself when he launches himself in his home made rocket.

It'd be a good way to blow off some steam, Mike.

His rocket engine basically appears to be a large water heater. The article states "Hughes will heat about 70 gallons of water in a stainless steel tank...". If your standard water heater holds about 50 gallons, Mad Mike is going to get some serious thrust from his rocket engine. The TV show 'Myth Busters' once heated a water heater until it burst. Here's a short video showing the power of a water heater.

I might have managed to make Mike blow a valve like that, neaRly.

I think it's because he's passionate about me.

I hope he's cleared this flight with the authorities, otherwise he'll end up in a lot of hot water.
