Gave me quite a turn when I saw that I can tell you.
It would possibly be a bit incongruous to say Happy Birthday Ian, but I can say thank you for your company and the memories you left us all with. A true gent.

As you say Graham he was a real gent. We were planning to meet up when he did his hoped for rail trip up North but tragically his health was deteriorating rapidly so he never made it. During our online 'conversations' it transpired that he was a cabin crew member on a flight we took in 1991 on a BA 747-400 from Heathrow to Seattle via Vancouver. Greatly missed. EricT

I still recall his postings documenting his decline and that final harrowing one particularly. Very sad.
