At first, I thought the helicopter was there to catch them if they fell.
Somehow, I can't see me doing that work. My hands would not let go of the structure, to put the bolts in.
Even watching Steeplejacks churns my stomach. :$
BTW, top marks also to the helicopter crew! :welldone:

Watched for about 30 seconds, and had to switch off. That sort of thing gives me the collywobbles. Same as watching potholers squeeze through tight openings in caves, with millions of tons of rock above them. Can't bear to look at it.

OMG!!! :-O Now that is something that I could never do, have always been afraid of heights even when parked in a multi-storey car park I cannot even look down at the street.

Even watching that especially when he looked directly upwards had me clinging onto the the chair arms, indents from my fingers are still there!!

Regards
Nigel.

I'm with all of you.

How is it that when I walk near a cliff edge I always lean as far as is possible to the inland side, have you ever tried to walk while leaning at a forty five degree angle? Funny thing is at no time when I flown in real life in a Tiger Moth, Chipmunk, Comet, Trident, 111, Vanguard, 707, 747 or 777 as a passenger have I ever felt nausea or the need to leave the aircraft immediately.

Ships are different - for peace of mind and stomach I avoid travelling by ship. I can just about manage the IOW ferry!

So I've read - one of the things very common in people who are scared of heights is that they have no problem with being in an aircraft. I can't look over the edge of a tall building, or even out of the window, without getting vertigo. Yet cocooned inside an aircraft, even in a window seat, I'm fine.

I'm the same way. Airplanes, great...tall buildings, no thanks. Many moons ago my family visited the 'Tower of the Americas' in San Antonio, Texas. The observation deck is exposed to the elements so vents were installed in the floor to allow rain water to drain off. The floor is tilted around these vents. I unknowingly stepped on the tilted portion of the floor (while taking in the view) and just about sh#t myself.

'Tower of the Americas' Watch if you dare. :worried: ;)

Here's another great example of precise piloting, a bit of coordination and practical task planning.
