Hey Mike, how is Mrs Airspeed doing? I hope she is on the mend.
Hi Joe,
Thanks for asking, kind Sir.
First review next Monday, hoping for a lighter cast as the original is a hefty model.
Still having pain, especially the tendons. Going to be a long process with lifelong effects, they say.

Surprise day today.
Number one:
The orthopedic team removed the plaster, put on a light dressing, and gave Mrs A a nylon sling to use in public.
No infection in the surgical cut.
Still painful, but they say it will improve somewhat.
Physiotherapy to start soon.
I'll try to upload a screen image later, and insert here as an edit.
EDIT see post below
Number two:
Son in law lent us his Lancer, to make it easier for Mrs A to go to hospital, and so I can dismantle the gearbox on our Mitsubishi L300, and have transport to pick up bearings.
Wow, was that an experience, having driven the L300 for 20+ years, then inserting myself behind the wheel of this vehicle! The driver can't see the front or rear extremities, the outside mirrors are deceptive, you can't hear the engine, so change gear based on the tachometer, it doesn't stray in a side wind, and everything is so quiet that you have to remind yourself that you are rolling on a real road at 100KMH. The wheelbase is totally different to the van, too; front wheels somewhere out in front of you instead of behind the driver's seat, so parking has to be re-learnt. Believe me, I was VERY cautious in the car park! Guess I'll get used to it.

Hey Mike, glad you got Mrs A home safely. Must have been really different driving a modern car rather than your ancient van. Take care of her and home she is on the mend soon.
