He's Not a Millionaire But............
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

Good for him! Love his 'laddle' rear view mirror. Clever and thrifty!

He might make a fortune selling his own Spitfire kits!
What a wonderful self-build. If enough people got together one might see enough Spitfires to get a whole Wing (45 aircraft) to fly down the Mall, London, UK.
Doesn't matter to me that they could be made of wood but it might be advisable to decrease the prop diameter to avoid ground strikes. Good idea to use DC3 props and the 'ladle' rear view mirror. What type of wheels and tyres did they utilise? Mini's?
In 1950s RAF ORs messes Spitfire tyres were used as "bumpers" around the waste food disposal bins!!!!!

OK, let's start.
He said "...all you gotta do is want it...."
US$3,000 for the prop? Counts me out

Inability to tell one end of a hammer from the other rules me out!
He mentions a few US aircraft, wonder why he chose a Spitfire over say, a Mustang. But then I suppose if you’re going to that trouble you might as well make one of the most beautiful things Man’s ever made.

It's not a 'bird', it's an aeroplane or an aircraft
