Then I'd have to use the screen for sighting!
I HATE using the screen. When looking for the new one, I insisted on a DSLR with eyepiece.
In bright light, the screen is black.

Ahh.. you aren't seeing the reason why you want a monopod that can extend beyond your height.
When you lower it to your eyes height the tubes will overlap and provide a stiffer support for the camera.
Get a good ball mount so you can move the camera about freely
....
And pick up some candy bars too....
Those you should send to me.

Re: Two more sleeps!
With the greatest respect, Joe; that is a very American approach to the problem.
Faced with a choice of (a) making a tool suited to the task, or (b) using something five times as big as needed so that it can do the 1/5th required without breaking, America will go for option (b).
However, given that 99% of our goods are made in the cheapest labour centres, using the absolute minimum standards, your advice is probably very sound.
Despite every man, woman and their dogs talking "March 31" instead of 31st March, I couldn't find any "candy bars", so I bought you some chocolate.
Sadly, my willpower is on a par with my political acumen, so I ate it all on the way home.
Thanks again for the tips.
