HU BBC4 20.00 Tonight

Post by Tomliner »

‘Plane Spotting Live’ with Peter Snow. No idea how good/bad this will be.
Followed by another new series ‘Revolutions’ about technological advance starting with development of aircraft. :) EricT

Did you - or anyone else for that matter - actually watch it Eric? I lasted just 10 minutes before I'd had enough of the puerile presentation style and turned it off. It didn't help that I dislike the use of the term "plane" for aeroplane but when Peter Snow announced that he was standing next to runway "twenty-seven ell", that did it for me!

Hi Peter. I did a bit better than you.I lasted 15 minutes before turning off for much the same reason as you. It was as though they were talking to children and dumbing down was the order of the day. Also on a non pc point, I believe the criteria for choosing presenters was diversity and gender neutrality rather than who would actually be best for the job were deemed more important. Won’t be watching any more of them.Rubbish. 8) EricT

Lasted less than 10 minutes before removing it from my PVR.

Good job I missed it then, as far as commentators or presenters go they should employ some-one with a knowledgeable background in that field. Also, I hate watching any commentary that includes music!!

In my original post on this thread I mentioned ‘Revolutions’ prog following after. I watched this last night and thought it much better. You can’t go wrong with a presenter like Prof Jim Al Khalili and the other presenters were also good.It was well worth watching and was the first in a new series.
BTW I had the pleasure of attending a couple of events in recent years presented by this man during the Edinburgh festival.

I see my policy of never watching a TV programme on something I know about is paying off!
