More Boeing Woes?

Further to previous threads, I see now a whistle-blower has claimed that some of the Dreamliner fleet has been knowingly fitted with faulty oxygen masks! If I were given to conspiracy theories, I'd wonder if Airbus had a sinister hand in all this, but I don't. But I do wonder what's going on with Boeing... *-)

TBH I’d say they all have had pressures over the years to churn aircraft out faster. I’m sure Boring is no different from Airbus, Embraer or anyone else.

I think all of this calls into question the certification process for all regulators as it would appear that, to some extent, the manufacturers pretty much self certify lots of areas that the public would be expecting the regulator to cover. And I doubt this is a Boeing only issue.

It was interesting that at one time ( I don't know if it is still the case now that their enthusiasm for all things Boeing has diminished ) British Airways had one or two inspectors continuously at Boeing at the Renton plant .

It might not be Airbus - it might be someone closer to home... :hide:
