I suspect that Steam identifies a location through the IP address, it went straight to the Brazil server before I even put my address in. There are all sorts of financial controls to prevent money laundering from Brazil, so things like Paypal, Amazon, Netflix and now Steam try not to let anyone resident here use external sites. I still have a UK Ebay account linked to a UK bank account, but everything else goes to the .com.br version, unless you really want to mess around with VPNs.

Could someone get a train sim for East Anglia have a practice for a bit and then let Greater Anglia know how to run a railway that works with rolling stock fit for purpose?

I ended up buying TSW2020 and I'm hooked :help:

As standard it comes with two UK lines, Trans Pennine and Great Western, which are the only ones I've looked at so far, and TBH the only ones I'm interested in. The Southern service between Brighton and Eastbourne was recently released and as that is part of a route I've used many times (I have family along the route) I've spent a lot of time on it too. Hopefully they will extend that to Hastings in the future.

Of these three routes the Trans Pennine is the most difficult, lots of up and down grades and ever changing speed limits make it hard work. They have the Tees Valley Line and the Class 31 loco on sale too, so I'll probably add both of those.

Merry Christmas to all

Having read this thread I am........... (I think) *-) hooked even though not owning a train simulator.

Been having a look and cannot decide which to go for, either TWS2020 or Train Simulator 2020 UK Edition. Find it a bit strange that the UK Edition also includes a European route as well as American route, I would be much happier with just the British routes or am I looking at it differently? :dunno:

What is the difference with the Deluxe Edition (is that the digital version)? from the others? Only then I can finally decide which one to go for.

Late Edit: What routes are given in Train Simulator without any add-ons?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nigel.....what have I started now :hide:

With the versions that I see on Steam (it may be different by region), on Train Sim World 2020 as standard you get Great Western Express, Trans Pennine, Long Island Rail NY, and a German route from Aschaffenburg - Gemünden. The deluxe version adds the Peninsula corridor in California. I haven't looked at the US or German routes, and probably won't I was only interested in the UK so that's what I've used so far. The two UK routes in the standard version have plenty to keep you busy, there are some silly gameplay tasks that you can quite happily ignore and just run the provided scenarios or even go for the timetable option to see if you can do better than the real companies.

I added the East Coastway Brighton to Eastbourne route because I've travelled that many times on my visits back to the UK, and now Tees Valley thanks to the sale. Graphics are pretty good and if your PC can run a flight sim well you will have no problems with the trains.

Be warned, it's addictive :help:

Fascinated by this thread and being a lifelong railway enthusiast I downloaded TSW - took ages but got there in the end. So far I'm not enjoying it but that might be because, unlike FSX etc., there doesn't seem to be any "idiots guide" or even keystroke function lists to make operating the sim easier. Or have I completely missed something? Any ideas?

Purchased Train Simulator 2020 but boy, is it me? When loading it says 32bit and no matter what settings I select on the graphics setup the graphics of this sim is just plain crap!! :wall:

Out of focus and to gain that focus I have to look down, trees are as though they have been done by a 5 year old. On watching many videos of this sim I fell for it and wanted to take to the tracks but for me now it is unplayable. Can some-one please advise where I am going wrong!!

Not sure if this is a 32 bit problem as I am running a computer with Win 10 64bit.

Andy, the manuals are linked on the product page, down to the right. There is also this consolidated link

https://dovetailgames.kayako.com/Knowle ... -sim-world

Nigel, I've never seen that happen here. I run Win 10 64 bit too and did the download and install through Steam. Whatever they gave me is what was "installed". My graphics are top notch, nice and crisp. and nothing like you are seeing.

From screen settings I run mine at 1920x1080, Antialias=TAA, preset=High, Vsync=OFF and screen=100%, which is how it came set up on my system as default. IIRC your setup is quite a bit better than mine so you should be able to push those numbers way out.

Have you tried the forums on Dovetail Games?
