One reason why I returned to Blighty........I wonder if DeepL translates like that! I use it because it seems to be better than Google & M$.

English isn't any better. Lots of words, spelt the same, have several different meanings. FAIR for example.

We had a Chinese guy who worked with us, he was called Peter Lee.

He was always called Cram Ling Ton.

Pedterlee is ia village n Co. Durham and Cramlington is in Northumberland.

Not forgetting Slough & slough ( Slough used to be in Middlesex, & slough (sluff) in a despond)

Slough is still in Middlesex, Keith ( I just checked, as we used to go there in the 50s)
