Any good books on...

Post by DogTailRed2 »

The Battle of Britain but specifically detailing which squadrons were active, in which groups, size, commanding officers etc.
Not interested in a read. I need the data for a project I'm intending.

I'm also interested in books that detail the raids during the battle from the Luftwaffer perspective. Targets, sizes, damage etc.

Thanks,

Ted.

G'day Ted,
I have 3 or 4 books on the topic.

One is 256p by Jon Lake. Published 2000.
Contains Order of battle RAF.
Info on Luftwaffe. Some maps, notes on Operation Sea Lion, etc
Details of main aircraft involved.
Mine aren't for sale, but are you looking to buy, or just want details to be extracted as needed?
If you're buying, I'll get the ISBNs for you.
If you want data, I'm happy to look stuff up for you.

Take a look at Rafweb, www.rafweb.org
too.

One thing to remember, is while 11 group bore brunt of things, the squadrons were rotated into and out of the 11 group area, to give them combat respite.

Hi Ted,
I just tripped over another source of data, which turns out to be free. :)
It's the Aeroplane Archive on BOB RAF and Luftwaffe aircraft.
Go to ebooks777.com,----> , on page 2 of the MILITARY listings, or search Battle of Britain.
