UPDATE SPACE X Manned Launch Demo-2 - May 30th 1522 hrs DST.

Post by airboatr »

I won't be able to see Crew Dragon launched into space atop a Falcon 9 rocket from West Palm with all the clouds blocking my view  .. but SpaceX.com will broadcast the launch live on their website courtesy of NASA.

Hi Joe, looking forward to the possibility of being able t o see Space X tonight weather permitting.

From our local on-line news it says:
The Falcon is set for lift off from Florida’s Kennedy Space Centre at 4.33pm ET, which means it will be 9.33pm in the UK.

The rocket will be visible from the UK around 15 minutes after take off, so long as the skies are clear of cloud or fog.

The weather forecast for Lincoln is looking promising for visibility, with limited cloud and rain expected around that time.
Think Elon Musk and his company really have nailed it.

So fingers crossed!

Regards
Nigel.

The ISS will pass over around 21.22 BST coming from the West, to the right of the moon, according to Tim Peak. As you say Nige. SpaceX should follow the same course, en route to ISS, some 30 mins later. Not bad Cape Canaveral to UK in some, what, 17 minutes???!

Why are those two astronauts wearing wellingtons ? Were the spacesuits made in Yorkshire ?

Scrubbed due to marginal weather. What a shame.

A good call. Better safe than sorry. Don't want another rush-to-launch incident like the one that killed the Challenger crew.

I think they realised they’d fitted Tesla touch panels in the Dragon... whatever you do, don’t push the autopilot button.
