Nice to see this aspect recorded. :agree:
Women have been involved more than we generally get to hear.
In the Harrier documentary linked in my 10th July post in "Observer's badge, anyone?" we hear from a young woman leading the work. Hats off to 'em!

I had the pleasure of flying Miss Shilling from Liverpool to the RR works at Hucknall and back when she was called back from retirement to be consulted on some problems with the RB211 installations in the Type 42 destroyers at Cammell Laird in the mid-seventies. What a character she was !
Thus she also contributed to the weaponry of the Falklands War
