Re: Bitzer project
Two suggestions that this is a Boeing 247.
It is not a Boeing at all, folks.
I guess it was thought of at the time, as the fashionable shape for the front of an aeroplane.
That should save some wasted time.

My first thought was a 247 but the fin is the wrong shape and has different engine cowls. Hmmm EricT

Re: Bitzer project
This one has me stumped, initially it looks a bit like a Lockheed 14 but the tail and gear is wrong

I'm stumped too, almost a DC2 copy but rudder horn balance different as are the undercart legs. It looks as if it has the Jack Northrop wing design, but its not listed as being his. Bulged rocker blisters - possibly European influence?

Once again, thanks to the brave and dedicated Members who had a crack at this one.
We have a single correct answer, from Pete Motormouse.
As I had posted elimination of all Boeings, which Pete may or may not have read, I have to go with gold.
Well done, Pete
Pete...
And now, with the three veils lifted:

Humm, the landing gear had me stumped, here is a pic of a real one.
Note how the struts on the landing gear go the other way, but the nose and tail fit so fair enough.

Tailwheel is also wrong in the profile picture too, which had me for a while, once I disregarded the landing gears as 'artist's errors ' it was a matter of finding DC2 copies.

Re: Bitzer project
From your picture Mike, I would never have got that. Undercarriage all wrong, and engine cowlings also.
It looks to be a compendium of several aircraft.
