Eric. I know that you wouldn't invent such an event.
What date did you try to submit the Sandringham?
I'm ready to issue your appropriate award, depending on the date. :)

Meanwhile.....
Here's the new question.
No moving parts.
6 tail markings.
All you need do is PM to me, the users of the logos, identifying each with its matching letter.

That’s very kind of you Mike but it wouldn’t be right for me to accept it. I can’t recall the date of the first pm in which I suggested the Solent but the second one suggesting the Sandringham 7 would have been on Nov 27 th, the date when you gave us another 24 hours.
TBH, looking at my pm boxes, this is clearly not the first time that I have not pm’d correctly. It’s time I learned to do it properly!
IIRC the occasion when I correctly identified the Convair 440 must have been via replying on the forum. EricT

Mike I’ve tried several times to send you a test pm but they always end up in the outbox. Can’t quite see what I’m doing wrong.
I’ll try again later.EricT

Mike, I’m getting PM’s from Eric without issues. Is it possible that your inbox is full? There’s a limit on how many messages you can store, you need to delete the old PM’s.

My in box has 3 messages from Eric, "deleted by user" and another titled Test.
Eric, the thing is to watch the screen when you Submit. You will get a note saying "Message sent successfully" or similar words. The message will sit in your Outbox until it's been read. THEN it will appear in your "Sent" folder. The confirmation which I sent to Eric today is currently in my Outbox, but not yet in Sent.
I don't know why PMs sometimes jump to Preview, and sometimes are Submitted directly. I've just accepted that it happens, and always check.

Mike, are you trying to drive me nuts?
A., D. and E. are easy. Also, I'm pretty sure I know F.

I thought I knew C., until I looked it up but could find no match with the airline I thought it was.

But it's B. that's driving me mad. It seems most familiar and I'm sure I've seen it several times previously, but nothing checks out with what my brain comes up with.

AARRRGGGHHH!

THAT'S the spirit, Kevin!
If it's any consolation, I'm beginning to think that my PM is in lockdown; not a soul wandering the area! :dunno:

What a nice bunch you are.
Had a couple of PMs to stop me feeling lonely! ;)
It's clue time, by the way, the Turkish Airline (THY) logo looks like this, and though it has had many incarnations since the 1930s, it has always maintained the shape of the red and white portion:

Hmmm... are you sure about that, Mike?

Sadly, the image is reversed in your picture so not THY.

Thanks for that, Pete. BUT it seems that they haven't been consistent, this is TC-SES, which was passed on to the Turkish Air Force, where it was painted with the logo as I included in the quiz, numbered 430. I found a photo on the net of TAF 431, showing the moon and stars reversed according to usual depiction, but quite clearly not a reversed picture, as the number and words are not mirrored.

I'll pop back with an edit and link "431".
OK, I think I see the story; the fin flash on British aircraft is reversed on the opposite side, so the same colour (red) is always at the front of the fin.
I'm thinking that Turkish military do the same

It is evident from your links that THY used the National Flag at some time, instead of the bird icon. I was misled by an entry claiming to depict the history of THY, and in it, there's no instance of the Flag.

I think that under the circumstances, we'll have to drop the Turkish tail from the quiz.
I'm happy that we've learnt something today. :)
