I'm deeply, deeply shocked and saddened by this news. He has been a pillar of strength, in his support of Her Majesty the Queen throughout their time together.
My thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty, the Royal Family along with not just the UK but also the Commonwealth at this sad time.

R.I.P. Prince Philip

I liked him, but he wasn't everybody's cup of tea. However, as he himself said, "if they don't like it, they can lump it" Typical of the man.

I just hope HM stays on the throne. Too late for Charles I think, and too soon for William.

A very sad day.

Abdication is a dirty word with her, so she'll stay on the throne till she falls off it. Once she's gone, Charles will succeed to the throne - it's governed by two acts of Parliament, not the Monarch's choice.
