Is it worth it?

A young lady we know, a friend of our granddaughter, is a cabin crew member on Virgin long haul. Last week she flew LHR to LAX, they had just 20 passengers going out, and 49 coming back.
It could depend on what freight was onboard. With what airlines are charging now for freight, a 'full belly' could be profitable with very few passengers on board.
